5 Side Effects of Using Hand Sanitizer - LearningJoan

Recently Dr RK, Additional Director General, Ministry of Health, India. Verma has said that using a hand sanitizer beyond a limit can harm health. To avoid this, he has suggested that when you are at home, wash your hands with soap instead of hand sanitizer. So come, let us know how the hand-sanitizer damages our hands…

Here Are the 5 Side Effects of Using Hand Sanitizer –

1.) This Chemical Is Harmful

The chemicals used to make the using hand sanitizer usually contain benzalkonium chloride. This chemical almost wholly kills the germs on the skin of the hand. As a result, pathogens that spread bacteria and infection do not remain active on the skin.

But when this chemical is used on the hands too much, it can cause allergic reactions, itching or burning sensation in some people. This usually happens with people whose skin is susceptible.

2.) Can Cause Skin Damage

Triclosan is also used in the preparation of hand sanitizer. It is a chemical that is absorbed by the skin. That is, our skin absorbs this chemical. Because of this, it enters our body. Therefore, if any external chemical over a limited quantity goes into the body, its side effects are there.

Using too much hand sanitizer leads to increased handstand. This problem also occurs when washing hands with repeated soap. To avoid this situation, it is better to massage your hands with a drop of mustard oil immediately after wiping your hands.

Do not take mustard oil in excess. Otherwise, it will create stickiness. This oil is rich in antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Therefore it is more valuable than any other moisturizer on the skin—especially given the situation in Corona today.

3.) Bad Effect on Mood

There are some disadvantages to using sanitizer too much, which is not noticed quickly. For example, the chemicals used to scent sanitizers are often triggered by stress and anxiety. This usually happens with susceptible people.

4.) Digestive Effect

The chemicals used to give a good smell to hand sanitizers include phthalates. Unfortunately, it is a chemical whose use is negatively affected by the liver and kidney. This causes more difficulty for those who already have stomach or digestive diseases.

5.) Not Even Safe for Children

Too much use of hand sanitizer is also not suitable for children’s health. In all the things we have talked about above, in case of any of these problems, the children are usually unable to express to the parents how they are feeling or what the problem is. They just become irritable and sick. Therefore, it is also suitable for children to wash their hands with soap.
